What I've learned about transformation design thus far #24
When life is stable, change is optional. The patterns that define us, our habits, beliefs, relationships, and identities, run automatically, reinforced daily by familiar environments and routines. Disruption is possible but rarely urgent. Tomorrow is like like today.
Crisis shatters this stability. The diagnosis, divorce, job loss, existential crisis, these rupture the continuity of life, forcing what was background into the foreground. The assumed identity is called into question. And a certain future disappears.
