What I've learned about transformation design thus far #9
The book that got me interested in Ritual Studies, when I was at Artschool, is Arnold van Gennep’s Les Rites de Passage. This book, written in 1909, quietly revolutionized our understanding of how societies manage transformation. Les Rites de Passage identified a structure common to rituals across cultures. From birth ceremonies to funerals, from initiations to weddings, and from healing rituals to coronations.
