What I've learned about transformation design thus far #12
During my studies in Design at the Arts Academy in Utrecht, I began to grasp the true power of design: it literally shapes the world around us. Every chair, building, interface, and experience started as an idea. Designers create artefacts that mediate between humans and their environment. But what if the ultimate artefact were the human themselves?
This is not a new idea, although it may seem so. Education has always understood that its product is not the lesson but the student who emerges transformed. Therapists know that their outcome is not the session but the person who walks out different. Spiritual traditions have always aimed not at the teaching but at the being of the one who receives it.
